Valley Hospital

Brought our elderly father to their ER and he was admitted. Once he was admitted to a room out of the ER, this hospital would not allow us to visit him because of Covid vaccine rules! Other family members attempted to call to ask how he was doing and they refused to give them any information about him because they were not on "the list"! This is crazy! The poor old man was there, all alone, no one visiting him and no one allowed to ask about him or call him! Horrifying! I feel like he was being held hostage there! VERY DISTURBING!!

Do not be influenced or discouraged by the negative reviews here. If there is anything such as a "good" experience at a hospital while undergoing a medical procedure, then that is what I encountered here. From the beginning at intake to the personable escorts to/from your medical suites, this is a hospitable hospital. Whoever is in charge here, well done. I would definitely recommend bringing loved ones here. Well done.

Worst hospital ever. Almost lost both kidneys because of neglect from the ER doctors. Went to the hospital 2 times, 1 time with a 104 that dropped in the waiting room and the report said I never had a fever. All they did was tested my urine. Second time I was throwing up for 2 days and my temperature kept going up and down. The ER doctor just assumed I smoke too much weed…. Took a blood and a urine test , told me that my kidneys were elevated but nothing to be concerned abt??? My white blood count was double the amount (17,000). Then he told me it looks like my urine shows an infection. Said he would call me with the result never did. Then I looked at the report and it states that I never complained about back pain. I literally said my lower back is killing me. And he said it’s probably from throwing up so much. These doctors made me believe that I would be okay going home. However far from the truth. Thank god I decided to go back bc I was throwing for 4 days and insanely dehydrated. I’m still in the hospital on pain medication now, haven’t been able to eat for 7 days now! Don’t trust valley my entire life could have changed so much or I could be died if I didn’t go to the hospital again and again and again. It’s rated 2 stars for a reason. Although the ER is horrible once admitted the care/ treatment they provide is amazing.

I was scheduled for on out-patient procedure last Wednesday. From the moment I walked into the hospital until I was discharged I encountered nothing but exceptional professional service. Prior to my procedure I received two calls from the hospital. The first was from the Patient Access Center that took personal and insurance information. The second was from an RN to discuss any medications and past medical history. Once I arrived at the hospital all I had to do was show my insurance cards and within a matter of 10 minutes I was in a bed waiting for the procedure. All the nurses prior, during and after my procedure, and of course my doctor, were friendly, professional and caring. I would definitely recommend Valley Hospital.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR DETOX! THIS IS THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD END UP AT FOR DETOX. STAFF IS HORRIBLE. NURSES ARE HORRIBLE. THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP ANYBODY. I TRIED TO LEAVE AFTER 3 DAYS AND THEY MADE ME STAY FOR ANOTHER 24HOURS. FOOD HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY!

I was at Valley for an entire month during August 2020 and in their PHP outpatient program in December. During the inpatient stay, Nurse Janet was phenomenal! She constantly worked for the patients, and we all looked forward to her shift. I remember several informal “therapy sessions” with Janet. I truly loved her. I also got to know Lemuel, who quietly and thoroughly cleaned all the rooms every day. Lemuel always smiled and was quite the philosopher. Andy, the AA therapist, was great. I am still using techniques from Rhea, the day program therapist. She was so caring, kind, and inspirational. Thank you, Valley.

Personally, I had a great experience here. A few times too (6 or 7 years ago). The staff was always friendly, as well as the doctors. I was actually treated with respect and my needs were always met. Rooms were clean, cafereria food is amazing and I always felt very safe. The activity rooms and gym area are also a plus. I definitely recommend this hospital over Aurora and Oasis. I obviously hope to never return but if I had to, this is my #1 choice. I'd also recommend any friends or loved ones.

I took my wife to Valley hospital when she was going through a change of medication for bi polar disorder. When we arrived, the lobby wasn t busy yet it took over 4.5 hrs to get her admitted.i [ts MUCH harder to get out] most of that time was spent in a small room reminiscent of a police interrogation room you d see in a movie. I didn t take her to a real hospital [big mistake!] because I thought the emergency room wait would be to long. The staff are incompetent and are rarely on the same page.We were told that since she was there voluntarily, she could leave voluntarily. its not that easy at all. We both tried for 3 days to get her released or transferred to another hospital but the staff made this very difficult, a social worked threatened her with going to state hospital if she tried to get released even though she has never tried to harm herself or anyone else. She was in a somewhat fragile emotional state and this threat scared her very badly, it did what is was intended to do. The little bald guy that watches over visitation acts more like a wannabe prison guard, trying to look intimidating while walking around the room, eavesdropping on conversation between patients and family, and treating people like jail inmates, instead of paying clients who come voluntarily for help. The Dr. my wife saw was helpful but didn t have a lot of time. He requested that she be put in the woman s support group but was mistakenly put into a group of people who were just out of jail, had bad drug problems, attempted suicide or all of the above. She told them for 4 days she was in the wrong group, but inept staff wouldn t listen to her. Her DR. finally got the problem corrected and she spent her last 2 days in the right group which she found helpful. One of the staff made a mistake with her medication dosage but she had the presence of mind to ask him to look at the bottle for the prescribed amount so she wouldn t take the double dose he tried to give her. She finally lied to them about the thought she was having so she could just get out of this place and we took her somewhere else and she got the help she needed and is is doing fine. We are getting bills for our copay from Valley Hospital which we are not disputing but she has asked twice starting a mouth ago for an itemized statement which they cant seem to produce. One of her calls was returned today and was treated very rudely on the phone. We are going to try to get copy s of her records from them which i suspect will be another battle. we will also file a complaint with our insurance carrier and hopefully, if they get enough, they will drop Valley Hospital from there plan. I really hope no one else has to go through what she did. The spirit of Nurse Ratchet is alive at Valley Hospital.....

Inpatient or Residential Mental Health Treatment
Inpatient Mental Health | Mental Health
Inpatient or residential mental health treatment. Inpatient treatment is the most intensive level of treatment, offering 24-hour care in a secure unit of a treatment facility or hospital. Residential treatment is a step down from inpatient treatment. While there is structure and some monitoring to treatment, the big difference between residential and inpatient treatment involves the setting in which it is carried out. While inpatient treatment is typically carried out in a treatment facility or hospital, residential treatment is usually carried out in more of a home-like environment.
