I have emailed and called for the grievance forms multiple times. They told me they would mail the forms to me and it has been well over a month and the forms are still nowhere to be found. I have never experienced such unprofessional help from an institution like this. I would never recommend the Emily Program to anyone. I am genuinely scarred from my time at the Emily Program. Don't waste your time.
From the Startribune: "Residential costs at the Emily Program run around $36,000 a month. Less sick patients might come in once a week to see a therapist and a dietitian at a cost of about $1,100 a month.'' How is The Emily Program a non-profit organization, when they run everything through your insurance? And how do they pay a staff without having to make money somehow? They've been charging past residents $1,000 from their stay even though those days were supposedly "covered by insurance." The total cost for residential at any TEP location is $36,000... Disbelief in TEP. Find someone better to take over, and not run this place down. Also to the St. Louis Park IDP, thanks for interrupting my recovery because you couldn't handle someone with re-feeding. This isn't an apartment or hotel, this is an EATING DISORDER facility. Learn how to handle these things better than sending someone home, especially those who are at risk for re-feeding. You are putting lives at risk. Not to mention, sending someone home with NO other resources for their recovery is very unprofessional.
I’m really disappointed to see EP have such low stars on here... everyone i encountered there was lovely at a bare minimum... many of them lifesaving. I found the best therapist I’ve ever had there— the groups are AMAZING.. i can’t say enough good things. I am a fat person who always said “i don’t have an eating disorder i just have a bad relationship with food. I’ve tried every diet i just can’t stick to them long term.” If this is you... don’t hesitate to make an apt. The first steps are the hardest.
I was never able to get appointments on a consistent schedule, causing me to forget appointments. They do not call or text to remind you they only send an email the day of 10 minutes before it’s supposed to happen. I was charged $200 for missing two appointments that were online. They let you waive them 3x but if I would have forgotten more appointments i would have had to pay them. Complete waste of my time and it added so much more stress than what I went to them for. Go to frontier or something else, anything else than this.
Ive been also trying to seek out for help. I am so glad I read the reviews before going here. By the sounds of things we could all come together and be in a body positive group that focuses on nutrition and help one another; instead of ending up with more unneeded issues by going here...
I think that the staff here are super nice and supportive. I’ve had a good friend that has spent a lot of time here, and she’s told me multiple times that it was lifesaving. I know if is really hard to start treatment, but it as really the best decision she’s ever made.
I was told I would receive a $90 refund check for copays I paid but did not need to pay. I waited 7 weeks, as the woman on the phone told me processing would take 6-8. When I called they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and said no one should have told me that. My insurance also covers weight-related counseling but the Emily Program says they won't bill for that. They just want your money. The reviews tell you what you need to know- avoid this place, there are plenty of counselors out there.
