As a former employee, it didn't take me long to realize the abuse that was going on, both to the patients, but the staff licenses as well. To say this is/was a hospital designed to care for unstable children is way overstated. Yes, they housed them, but no one employed there actually "cared" for them. I got out before my license was put in jeopardy. There is a reason multiple locations are closed - this one should as well. An ex-medical director once wrote, "it's a hotel, not a clinical facility". What hotel is he/she referring to? I'd never let or force my children, or elderly adult, go to a hotel like that! PS the pictures of employees sleeping on the floor on other sites at other locations is common. I took some myself!
So far my child has only been to this facility once. I have not been pleased with the amount of communication given. Other treatment centers we have experienced have doctors and therapist filling us in regularly with the progress of our child and giving us updates. I've called many times only to have the call dropped. I've left messages that go days without being returned. I'm sure they are busy... that is a statewide issue. But we need better communication.
If I could give less than one star I would. I have worked at this facility and I can say with confidence and passion do not send your children here. By any means do not! This is an abusive and mostly neglectful facility. Children sit around all day with little to no therapeutic outlet and are assaulted by their peers. They’re not provided hygiene products or adequate medical attention. I have never left a google review in my life much less for a place I previously worked, but this is important to me. There are so many more facilities please don’t choose this one!
I don't normally like to talk down on anything or any body, place. But this is I fill in my heart it is needed. My daughter was here back in July 4 2021 for 2 weeks. Please do not send your child here. There under staff some staff were nice some you could tale didn't want to be there. Bottom line I feel it was a high price daycare. $$$24,000 for 2 weeks for the kids to color and draw. Also if we wouldn't of push it she wouldn't got out of there when she did. Bottom line it needs to close if they can't support their staff and give them the tools they need to treat these kids. and clean up the mold thats in that building.
Recently I had discharged about a week ago after being admitted. At the start of entering I truly was excited to start my journey of improving and getting better. The staff was alright, there were incredibly short staffed and many of them were inconsiderate. The only thing that kept me sane was the good staff members which was rare. The food was god awful, many of the girls and guys in my hall found hair in their food and many refused to eat. We got lucky if we had good staff with us and we got really lucky if they found one snack for the day. Throughout the day we stayed on the couches and did absolutely nothing at all but watch a small TV, we were lucky if we got one sheet of a coloring book page. We had no therapist hired for our hall, they said “Rec therapy” was therapy but all we did was maybe played a game of basketball. Every time someone cried they would document it and hold it against you attempting to keep everyone longer. It was truly prison and eventually I had to bully myself into getting better just so I could get out of there and Improve my mental health on my own. I truly feel like only the 4 days there I have some sort of trauma from that prison. So truly if you want your kids to get better please save them and don’t send them here.

DO NOT send your child here for treatment. The most unprofessional and incompetent staff I’ve ever seen. This facility in nothing more then a babysitting station. You have conference calls with so called “administrators” about the care of your child and nothing gets fixed. You then call and ask to speak to the highest official there “the person in charge” and you are told there is “no one that is really in charge there” Ridiculous!! The nursing staff there is completely useless and can not follow through with the most simple things. The list is just to long to go over but please do not send your child here!!! I give their rating a “0” out of 5 stars
My son was recently there for 8 days. He was deprived of a pillow for 3 days! He was deprived from anything to drink on his last day. Trying to call my son was a complete nightmare. I left messages and NO ONE ever told him we called. This was not my choice of placement. One nurse called his first week there and ask for permission to give him medication . 5 days later another nurse called asking the same question for the same reason and showed no record of me ever being called. I was worried he wasn't given the correct medication or any at all. I DO NOT recommend any parent taking their child there. I feel he was told to lie in order to be discharged. Honestly this place does not deserve one star!!
After working here for a month, I can attest that this is a well-run and organized facility. It is filled with caring staff members who strive to help patients reach their goals on a daily basis. The medical providers are great and very knowledgeable. In particular, the psychiatrist, Dr. Tharwani, is very compassionate and empathetic. The nurses, counselors, and therapists on each unit genuinely want to help and are both kind and respectful. I would recommend this place to a loved one.
I read reviews and was skeptical about calling here for help for our daughter. Although there were several issues during her stay, my first call was handled by an absolute angel. Lawanda was very patient in answering my endless questions and offering options on how to get the best help for our daughter. This was our first time experiencing this and needed time to think it over. Lawanda called us back later in the evening to simply check-in on me and our daughter. We decided to schedule an appointment and hoped that everyone else was as thoughtful and kind as she was. Her nurse Elizabeth was pleasant to speak with and our daughter said she was the nicest nurse there. They are not allowing visits and would sometimes go an entire day without being able talk to our daughter. I’m sure this is due in part to other families attempting to call. We appreciate this hospital being the first step in helping our family and connecting us with outpatient services.
