The quality has declined drastically over just 3 years. Don't know if it was a change in management or low quality hirees, but you cannot get through the phones nor are there any decent programs that larger VAs offer. An absolute waste of resources that would be better directed in the CC private health care system.
Over the course of about 8 years ive have 3 different doctors. They never notifie you that you're old ones been replaced so ultimately you end up with a new DR who wants to redo everything the old DR has already done. First time the replaced the yellow team DR we went almost a year being unable to be seen cus our team had no DR. They wouldnt let us be seen by other team DRs or to join the CHOICE program and see a local DR untill they hired new one. Only upside/improvement since my last review is that after 11y of throwing up blood my new DR, Dr Chen i believe actually scheduled several apts that actually found out whats wrong with me and finally got me answers. Just waiting for the inevitable "its not service related" line

After a few frustrating months of trying to get into the VA health system after retiring from active duty 5 years ago, I finally was assigned to the Blue Team. The care I have received has been top notch. Theresa, the Blue team nurse, is dedicated, caring and responsive. I simply leave message for her when I need something and she is on it! I have had multiple consults both within the VA system and with outside civilian providers, and my experiences with all the personnel have been positive. With that being said, there are a number of systemic issues. As mentioned, the automated phone system has glitches that will take one in a perpetual loop with no resolution to one's problem. Being seen in a timely manner is not always possible, especially since COVID. As a retired Army nurse, I see a system that is still largely broken. It is the dedicated, caring staff , doing the best they can with what they've got, that motivates me to give the facility five stars and two thumbs up, way up!
