I called here and was put on waitlist in October 2020. I was told that wait time is 2-3 months & I will hear back by December 2020. Well, it’s June 2021 and I haven’t heard ANYTHING. Why have a wait list if you’re not going to use it? Very disappointed and will be seeking a psychiatrist somewhere else.

OSU Harding has saved my life on multiple occasions. I have been hospitalized for inpatient psychiatric treatment 31 times. harding is the hospital I have turned to most often when in crisis. I am totally blind, have a multitude of mental health conditions, several secondary medical conditions, and identify with the LGBTQ community. The staff who work for Harding care for patients as if we are their own family. Fellow patients care for one another. We understand the twists, turns, and unexpected curveballs life throws at us on a daily basis. The only issues I have with Harding are one unit clerk on a power trip who has worked on the second floor for years, and the "treatment teams" including attending psychiatrist, resident psychiatrists, and social workers who see patients 5 minutes or less per day, however make all legal decisions regarding treatment and care. nurses, patient care technicians, and therapists do not rank high enough in the pecking order to do more than advocate for a patient and speak on our behalf. If they believe a patient should not be discharged back to an unsafe situation, or we are ready, or if we are experiencing negative side effects to medication, they simply have no say. Patients and our loved ones are often not heard either. I have not felt like most Valuable Player on my treatment team for years. Insurance companies have the power to dictate what care patients can and cannot receive based on how much money they are willing to shell out. They contact hospitals daily to find out a patient's predicted discharge date. Hospitals get tired of hearing it. My best advice as a long-term mental health consumer with special needs would be to go to Harding if you are in crisis and need tender loving care.

Of all the places I have been, this has been the best experience of them. Nurses care, psychiatrists look at medical solutions and natural solutions. And I really appreciate the accomodations to the best of their ability so I could work on my school work. They are on top of it. I had a tooth chip and the dentist was up that day. They are also proactive and make sure you have any other medications for other health conditions as well, which you would think would be common sense, but it doesn't seem to be other places

Horrible mental health facility, they only care about making money, not about patients at all! Avoid this place like the plague. My sister, who I had not spoken to for over a year called the police to do a "wellness check" on me because she says she was worried. The police showed up, and against my will, took me in to OSU Behavioral Health. Before this I have never had any psychiatric issues at all. The monsters at Harding Hospital kept me locked up for 6 day. SIX days! Away from work, away from my kids and family. For 6 days they locked me up and lied to me everyday, saying I could go home that day or the next. Late one night talking to a nurse I asked why, why was I being held against my will for so long, she told me its all about money. They keep everyone there as long as they are allowed to no matter what so they can charge the maximum to your insurance. These people are monsters, plain and simple, not health care workers.

Inpatient or residential mental health and addiction treatment. Inpatient treatment is the most intensive level of treatment, offering 24-hour care in a secure unit of a treatment facility or hospital. Residential treatment is a step down from inpatient treatment. While there is structure and some monitoring to treatment, the big difference between residential and inpatient treatment involves the setting in which it is carried out. While inpatient treatment is typically carried out in a treatment facility or hospital, residential treatment is usually carried out in more of a home-like environment.
