I've spoke with Vet Center counselors on three occasions. Had I known The Vet Center is now part of CAVHS, I would never have contacted them. This may be alright for some vets, however I will never go near them again. The counselor asked confusing questions and offered very few positive solutions. I've had good counselors and bad counselors and on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst 10 being the best, I'd rate him at a 2. His body language was one of intimidation, video was choppy to say the least and the conservation disintegrated into all out anger and shouting on my part. I have my doubts, about the Little Rock, AR Vet Center counselors having very much training in counseling. More effective counselor training is definitely needed and some the counselors shouldn't be counselors.
