There is a nurse that works in the er on night shift. Her name is la sabere. I hope I'm spelling it right. She is one of the most empathetic and intelligent persons I've ever met. She took extra time on top of doing her job perfectly to assure me that she actually cared about my well being. She deserves a raise at the very least.

On 11/29/21 I went to the VA hospital in Houston, and checked into the emergency room. The staff was Very helpful and accessed me in less than an hour and sent me to radiology for a ct scan. The technician was also very respectful and polite. From there I went to the ENT clinic where I met Sam ( Samantha)> She was very easy to talk to and showed me the images that had been taken and prepared me for a biopsy for the Pathology Dr.'s. The VA Houston is the best hospital I have ever been to.. The Valet parking is very much appreciated. K Streets US Army 67-70

The Houston VA is the pits. They come up with all these great policies and photos of Happ, I leave a message and no one returns my call. I have yet to reach a veteran's advocate. Do they know what advocate means? Are they really at work? Is their break area so nice that they can't leave it and get back to work? I filed a claim and they gave me 30 days to reply with evidence, it's going to take me that long to find someone who is at work.

I am a 49 year cancer survivor of a. Variety of cancer types ( likely from A.O. exposure), and continue to have new ones appear. Since 1982, I have gone to M.D. Anderson for my cancer treatment, of course at a price. I thought, well, why not. They are said to be the best. All the while my Primary Care Physician was at the VA. AFTER YEARS of " putting my toes in the water", I have now convinced myself of the quality care available at our Houston VA. For years I have taken time to write commendations on the lab personnel and their "sticks", the pharmacy for their assistance, but I now want to tell it to you all. We have the best VA and medical professionals we could ask for. I wish I had time to shake each of your hands ( with gloves, of course) and say thank you for being there for us Vets.

The two ladies who work at the information desk in the lobby of the hospital made me feel so special today when I asked to sign up for the choice program and they sent me to building 121 across the road about a half a mile away and I get over all the way over there and the doors are locked cardboard signs hanging off the window saying building closed and I'll walk all the way back and tell him that the building's closed just to see them smirk and whisper amongst themselves back there and laugh. It made me feel so special today that I thought about giving him a little thank you I was going to grab my 16 lb sledge hammer out the back of my truck roll my window down and drive real slow down every aisle and just swing that sledgehammer as hard as I can to every vehicle I can reach just to say thank you for making me feel so special. I guess it's just absolutely too much to ask an employee to treat other people with basic human dignity.
