See the photo I attached to understand why I gave this facility 1 Star. Almost 90 minutes left on hold and after a week, I still do not have an appointment date. UPDATE: So it’s been over 2 weeks and I still don’t have an appointment. I’ve been called by the Community Care department saying I’m next in cue but that was 4 days ago. It’s been 2 weeks and 4 days and I still don’t have a simple CT Scan scheduled.
Well organized arrival area with multiple check in stations. Must have appointment for entry. No valet parking anymore, but they do a good job providing pickup and drop-off. I use a walker and when they noticed me coming someone came out with a transport wheel chair and brought me to intake.
Blue team rocks. Very well taken care of. The dermatologist was quick and diagnosed my condition and referred me to have it resolved. She was the best I have had in over 30 years of skin issues. Only criticism not if the care but it would be very cool if they had some signage and painted the building numbers on the buildings.
We moved from Texas (VA great there) to South Carolina... Read some of the Negative reviews so somewhat nervous to go there... It's been over two years from last visit in Texas so wanted to register & update my records... VERY CLEAN & Helpful workers, I was impressed.... Went in at 10:00 AM & out at Noon.... Updated financial & picture ID... Went to Emergency for vitals & Free pills... Was waiting in Emergency lobby for 5 minutes & nurse came out greeting & smiling... Said they were getting a room ready for us with a Happy voice.... Waited another 10 minutes & then called in... Met pharmacist to get an emergency sugar level pills... Also gave me a free blood sugar meter & 50 test strips... :) Follow up on Lab & doctor.... Another great experience on my Lab & doctor visit... Was done on Saturday for first timers & no crowds... Went in around 1 PM & out around 3 PM... Made an appointment in 3 months for doctor (Blue Team) on follow up... Couldn't be happier with the VA in Columbia, SC ... :) Made an appointment for this coming Saturday (7 days) for blood work... Then went to Pharmacist to pick up Free drugs, took about 10 minutes... On way out there was a brass band playing in the main lobby & free cake... :) I tried to give extra details to help others for this VA in Columbia, SC... Bob Update after surgery on neck... I had a benign growth on my neck for years... I asked my VA doctor about it & to my surprise he said "Do you want me to take it out?" The VA never offered this in the past as it was a non-threatening fatty growth... We made the appointment (before Covid-19)... Operation went smooth, everyone was "peaches & Cream"... Over 100% on my experience... I asked the doctor if it was going to hurt, he answered with a smile "It won't hurt me".. :) Many Thanks, Bob
