***DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO BE ADMITTED HERE*** YOU HAVE A CHOICE!! I would give zero stars if it were an option. This facility was a nightmare from intake to transfer out. They mismanaged my husbands medications to the point that they caused a severe reaction/overdose which led to emergency transfer to a local hospital where he experienced kidney failure and severe dehydration. The medical staff suspected he hadn't eaten or drank anything in days. This situation was totally preventable had the staff at Cedar Crest correctly dosed, administered, and managed his medications as well as paid attention to his reactions to them. After days of them stating he "couldn't talk" they finally told me what he was experiencing at which point I threatened to call 911 and the news stations if they didn't get him adequate care. That's what it took to get him appropriate medical treatment. To add to the horrible situation they lost all of his clothes and shoes and have refused to reimburse us. Make sure your loved one signs a release of information at intake or they won't speak with you. They will tell you at intake all forms have been signed for communication but then when you call they will state they aren't all there. Get copies of EVERYTHING your loved on signs. To clarify, my husband has been stable since 2008 without a single mental health issue. He has a bachelors degree and does not abuse any substances. The experience I'm detailing can happen to anyone. Advocate. Call. Do not give up. Ask to speak with supervisors and threaten them with the media if they won't speak with you. The abuse that happens in this facility is horrendous not to mention the insurance fraud. A quick google search will surface reports that their last CEO resigned after a series of retaliation lawsuits were filed against him for claims he was involved in insurance fraud. If you have good insurance they will fabricate medical records to hold your loved as long as your insurance company will pay.

Y’all hold people against their will and fill them full of drugs! Your facility only wants to bill insurance companies and make a quick buck and all you’re doing is hurting the patient! You all are no good and ate very pathetic in the way you handle family!

I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to receive treatment from this place. The food wasn’t the best when I was there (I hope it does get better), but everything else considerably outweighed that. All the staff were so helpful, kind, and considerate... they’re primarily what helped me have such an enlightening experience. Thank you everyone for genuinely caring for me, and for giving me the profound awakening experience I desperately needed.

My child had a wonderful experience. The nurses were helpful . Every time I called to check in on my child, the nurses were very polite. I never once worried about my child when they were there for 7 days. My child was able to grow as an individual more at Cedar Crest in 7 days than they had with a year of bi-weekly outside therapy.

I can speak on my recent stay at cedar crest and my personal encounters with the Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, and the Techs during my week of voluntary in-patient therapy. The Care Was Real. I was treated with dignity and respect. Groups were amazing. There's even YOGA. We threw the football around during rec. Rooms were clean and Staff was Attentive to all patients. I am proud to have had such a great Treatment Team on my side. 100% Real compassion and Professionalism. Period.

Inpatient or residential mental health treatment. Inpatient treatment is the most intensive level of treatment, offering 24-hour care in a secure unit of a treatment facility or hospital. Residential treatment is a step down from inpatient treatment. While there is structure and some monitoring to treatment, the big difference between residential and inpatient treatment involves the setting in which it is carried out. While inpatient treatment is typically carried out in a treatment facility or hospital, residential treatment is usually carried out in more of a home-like environment.
