People at the front desk is very kind and courteous, a family member went to one of the impatient units and he said he felt good, that all the staff care about his well being, they were kind and compassionate. The only think that I will suggest for social workers is to respond the calls at least within 24 hours.

Some of the staff is nice. Some nurses are completely nasty and neglectful. Certain doctors disregard your concerns and put you on medications you DO NOT belong on and take away ones you do. Counselors/ group meetings are great however! The food and the regulations for self hygiene are terrible. They also NEVER clean the bathrooms (had to clean mine myself) Also had 3 staff members force and bully me into receiving a covid shot. This place gets 2 stars at most! ... and thats me being generous

The entire staff at Carrier was professional and courteous, from Admissions to the Visitors Center. The adolescent unit was amazing in caring for my daughter. The doctors really listened to both me and my daughter, my daughter’s social worker was extremely helpful and advocated for her and made her feel comfortable. Her nurses were all so friendly. Each and every person we encountered was compassionate and caring. I’d highly recommend their services if your teenager needs help.

My experience at the Carrier was a rollercoaster. I can honestly say the program taught me a lot that I feel so much better in terms of my mental, physical, and emotional health. The facility is so nice; every station along with the rooms are kept clean by staff and patients. There are quiet and communal rooms for creativity and free time. The technicians are helpful and courteous; always willing to listen and assist. The nurses are prompt, but it is your job to remember to take medication. COVID tests are taken often to ensure the community’s safety. The community of patients I came in with were especially forthcoming and as a community able to pursue self-betterment. There are recreational activities like group sharing, gym, and smoke breaks. Patients are constantly met with their treatment team to ensure progress within the program. I had my ups and downs, but would 100% recommend.

My parents were patients here a couple of years ago and I thought the staff was very wonderful and very welcoming. I would ask about my parents progress and they were very thorough and honest> I did not have a problem with them at all

I can't tell you what it's like to be a patient here and hopefully I never will. However, I can tell you that as an employee for Hackensack Meridian at this location, I enjoy working here very much. They make me feel valued and important which is something that I never experienced in my previous career in public education. Working at Carrier definitely has its challenges, but the TEAM approach makes things easier. I am happy to say I am employed there. Education staff and nurses, CST, admin and counselors are all great people.

Inpatient or Residential Mental Health Treatment
Inpatient Mental Health | Mental Health
Inpatient or residential mental health treatment. Inpatient treatment is the most intensive level of treatment, offering 24-hour care in a secure unit of a treatment facility or hospital. Residential treatment is a step down from inpatient treatment. While there is structure and some monitoring to treatment, the big difference between residential and inpatient treatment involves the setting in which it is carried out. While inpatient treatment is typically carried out in a treatment facility or hospital, residential treatment is usually carried out in more of a home-like environment.
