Hi I was a patient at canopy cove and in my opinion this facility is only good if your child actually want help if not it’s the opposite they will feel depressed and some of the staff are Plain out rude I had a nice therapist while I was there but I also had very bad experiences for example they kept making my stay longer when I was ready to go I stayed 79 days and that was supposedly a short stay I left worse than I came the only thing they did was make me physically healthy but I did not go to a hospital I went to a mental facility there primary concern should have been mental also there eating rules are ridiculous and a lot of the food they serve normal people would not even eat like plain cold pasta like no one wants that it was just to add calories to my meal they would also put lemon all over my veggies so they tasted so bad it is your decision if you want to go or not but it’s not my recommendation
THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST TREATMENT CENTERS OUT THERE! Deserves zero stars. Don’t waste you or your loved ones time or money! Absolutely no communication! The Clinical Director, Ashley, doesn’t return phone calls or emails. I’m not sure who hired her, but they need to reassess her qualifications. She is under qualified and lacks the maturity for this type of a position. People’s lives are at stake and she has no compassion. I left her several messages trying to obtain my daughter’s medical records for her outpatient team and she never returned my calls, even after I warned her that I was going to leave a negative review online. My daughter and her outpatient team also made multiple attempts to get this information, but she completely ignored their requests as well! This has made it very difficult for my daughter to be successful in her recovery with her outpatient team being completely in the dark! They also discharged her before she was even close to her goal weight, so she will more than likely need to return to treatment to complete her weight restoration THE RIGHT WAY! There are much better centers out there such as Rosewood Ranch or Selah House (to name a couple) . My daughter only went here because it was the only center with availability at the time she was at a critically low weight. Now I know why they had openings!
I went to Canopy Cove for Anorexia Nervosa treatment, but it only helped me pick up even more bad habits. Seeing the other patients looking more thin than I was, made me even more motivated to lose weight. This program can be very helpful to some, but others not so much. From my experience, it was pure hell. One good thing about the program for me was the Equine Therapy. It was very nice to chill and hang with the horses.
I heard it just changed hands with that being said I know things have to smooth out... But I believe it's been nothing but a waste of time and resources. No communication at all made for a difficult process. They never turned in my nieces homework the whole time she was there. The whole thing was a joke. Could say much more but I just really hope and pray they get their act together or go out of business. You can't play around with ppls lives like that!!
