Atrium Health Mercy ECT Team are excellent!! From the super nice and very friendly ladies upfront doing the check-in, to the registrars, all of the nurses in same day, all of the nurse anesthetists, ECT Doctors, and the Anesthesiologists. They all make me feel more comfortable and cared for. I just simply cannot say enough about the entire team and I owe a lot of my progress to them!! In addition to that, I was inpatient a few months ago and my experience was excellent as well. They do care about the patients and their advice/strategies have helped me since my discharge.
Had a video visit with Kathleen Peninston. The visit was a routine follow-up and I appreciated not having to drive uptown to see her in person. Thank you, Atrium, for having appointments via video as an option. It would be nice for all routine, maintenance visits to be done this way, especially during the continued Covid-19 pandemic. It is stressful to me to have to go into a medical facility where just don't know who has been vaccinated and who has not.
When I was admitted Saturday night everything seemed good and then when I changed to scrubs I thought a room would be given to me but instead I was on the floor with a mattress and pillow. Now that wasn’t too bad because I assume that they were full. Anyways, when I look up there was dust all over the walls and vent. Now I have severe dust allergy. And my throat started to swell the next morning and my nose started to get stuffy. The care giver asked me if I wanted to go to a room instead, but I asked if the vent was still as dusty and she said probably; so I just stayed there. As soon as I got out of there Sunday afternoon I immediately started feeling sick and my throat is red and swollen and my nose is stuffed and runny. I am very annoyed with the fact that during COVID they had dust like that and the bathrooms didn’t have soap! Now I can understand if soap can be used to kill yourself but it’s COVID. Ridiculous. However, The morning staff was very nice and sweet. But the night shift would not shut up about their personal life.
I think over all Atrium is not good at all for some people its different cause you come in contact with some people that works great and love doing their job then some that doesn't. My overall experience with them for the past 3 weeks have been terrible anybody knows your head/brain is the main function of you body you think they would've put more effort when I told them that this wasn't my first time for the same thing. I went to ER for my head they didn't help me there ended up at the Behavioral Health cause with my head hurting not getting the proper rest I ended up here wait time was beyond a timely manner. They had people that got here before me and was still waiting at 12 in the morning from being here 12 hours or more. They didn't come check on the people that was waiting to tell them whats going on or nothing.
This is the worst place ever. I mean the worst place. They admitted my son for no reason. The doctors admitted him off of his previous records and my son is doing therapy treatment. I mean from the doctors to the nurses are so rude. When I say don’t go to this place do NOT go to this place. NOVANT is a whole lot better. I have never in my life seen such type of people that work in the medical and assume a diagnosis for a patient then try to justify the situation. This is a horrible, horrible hospital. When I say they admitted him to she mentally behavior ward that is what they did for know reason. My son got tricked into questions that he didn’t understand of how to answering. When my son got to the hose he had just taken his daily medication that makes him very sleepy. Yes, it is a long story to tell of how he or why did he go to the hospital but he was not feeling well with nothing negative just wanted to get checked out but gets there and he is in the mental health department locked up for j is reason. My son kept telling him that they were going off his past and I was trying to tell them they are going about things the wrong way. Stayed in the hospital for a week for no durn reason. If I go into the whole detail of all that had happened then you would understand why I am telling people not to go hear for to Novant. Listen!!!!!
I must say the care we received at Atrium Health was great and impressive. The doctors concern for what concerned me immediately took a load off my mind. I had competent caring physicians who solved my child's issue quickly. Now, for the facility, clean and appeared to be safe with guidance, masks- there masks mandatory, and hand sanitation stations within reach. If you do a video session with the doc expect a check-in call prior to scheduled mtg time every time.
Dr. Ann Richardson is a phenomenal psychiatrist. It's not been an easy journey for us but she has been DETERMINED to help and guide me through trauma, anxiety and depression. She listens to me and provides feedback that I trust and adhere to! I would highly recommend DR. RICHARDSON. Both she and her staff are wonderful and they're quick to respond on my chart through Atrium Health!
