Had a bad experience with this place. First, they couldn't do a phone call with us for two days due to "technical issues.." Second, they seem to think that because their facility is "nice" the program is really good. There's more to it than that. Their website says they treat ODD but then tell me my son with ODD is "too extreme." They didn't even talk to the hospital or his therapist before making a decision. Notice in the other reviews, they don't say whether the adolescent got better. Do yourself a favor and check out other places.
As any parent loving parent would be, I was extremely concerned, worried, and nervous about the entire process and sending my child to Adolescent Growth— or any facility. Adolescent Growth put my mind at ease almost immediately. This is an amazing facility that cares deeply about their children. Angelia, Donita and the ENTIRE STAFF(Via, Jason-you too ???? and I hear the chef has mad cooking skills) are wonderful, compassionate, caring and always immediately responsive to any questions and concerns. Frank, the gentleman that is the liaison between your child and their school, does an amazing job. My child’s counselor called me and told me how excellent he is in communicating with the school and making sure my child is as up to date in all the assignments and teachings. Adolescent Growth does an excellent job communicating on your child’s progress! Your baby is good hands. I would not have any concerns or hesitations if you are considering sending your child to Adolescent Growth. None.
My child spent 45 days here and I was so impressed! The structure, the staff, the psychiatrist, everyone even the administrative staff was amazing! The director Angelia is one of the most amazing people I have ever meet and my child’s therapist Nancy was awesome, my child learned so many coping skills and how to deal with things better, they are doing amazing now back at home!!! Thank you all for everything you will forever hold a special place in our hearts!!!
Recent reviews posted are grossly misleading. Please see our websites re numerous positive reviews from staff and clients. I have viewed this company on 3 different websites & 90 percent of the reviews on all 3 websites are negative with no response whatsoever from the owner or company itself. This shows lack of efficiency, integrity, & accountability. Recently contacted twice from 2 different recruiters & declined twice due to the negative reviews. When negative reports are coming from the patients/clients, staff, and their guardians, without any visible response from the company itself, there's a problem.
There were 2 instances of a COVID-19 breakout, and in both times there was no clear direction. During the second time, they decided to close their doors and informed us they would contact us and follow up. During this pandemic this institution decided to not answer questions about proper PPE, and later on the employee that raised questions during a team meeting was terminated. In fact, questions about pay and protection were avoided. This was not an isolated incident. The lack of compensation and protection happened to most of the hourly workers. Multiple times I inquired if I would be compensated due to the business closing down because of the virus. I was redirected to HR by the manager on all occasions and none of my questions were answered. This institution also failed to contact me to tell me they were hiring on another teacher, while I awaited for their instructions to return to work. They simply replaced my position, in the middle of a pandemic. The turnover rate in this institution is extremely high, and people do not last very long. If you would like to work for this company, I would highly recommend doing your research first and foremost. Best of luck to you. Edit: The owner called me on 8/21, 2.5 months after they closed their doors and never contacted me again. He asked if I was okay, and if I wanted to come in for a few shifts. I told him about my personal experience, along with others, and he did not apologize. I told him that if he really wanted me to come back, we could exchange this conversation through email and he refused. He claimed that there is no point of going back and forth. Yet, he kept repeating that Adolescent Growth cared about me, even after acknowledging my treatment, knowing full well my husband was also laid off by the pandemic. All in all this company refuses to acknolwedge their mistakes and strives to put a bandaid on the wounds they inflict on their employees by saying that they "care." They "care" by calling for 5 minutes. True action is to treat their employees with kindness and respect with communication, which I hope they change now and in the future. True action is to communicate, at the very least, if they are going to pay them due to unforeseen circumstances by the pandemic. I was up during payday to see if I would have money for rent, food, and necessities not knowing if money would come through because I had been ignored and redirected to HR constantly. They not only failed to do this for me, but also to numerous employees. One of the medical assistants who had also recently left, and was impacted by COVID-19, has still not been paid for 20 hours of her overtime. She will most likely not be paid until they acknolwedge this wrongdoing on their part. True action and "caring" is to not silence their employees when they are requesting information about their pay and personal protective equipment. We are not just talking about money, this is about people's livelihoods. I truly genuinely hope that Adolescent Growth changes their treatment of employees.
